Very very busy week. Mostly photos:
Suit fitting at ZEDMED with Angelo
Gold Money tree up for auction this week at Gaynor Rupert’s annual Charity Gala.
Gin and wine for sale at Tamboerswinkel
Sting concert. My birthday treat from Joanne.
Friday was also a blur. Here’s a pic of Joanne and I as I dropped her at work.:
Friday I went into town again to man the Gallery as it was Chad’s birthday and I give my staff the day off on their birthdays. I redid the vinyl on the front door last week and called it Richard Scott Art Gallery to coincide with GOOGLE search results.
You need to use the word “art gallery” to attract customers into your space. So I’m learning a lot about retail.
France popped into the shop as I promised him a key ring and r-shirt for his birthday Thursday. France heads up the brewery for Andre, my friend and landlord.
It was my 3rd day in the shop/gallery this week. I committed to finishing the artwork for the Richard Scott wallet. I do all the design and layout myself. I’ve been doing my own graphic design since 1994 when I bought myself a computer back then. I had a little company on the side designing menus for restaurants and business cards. I even once partnered with Bill Rawson and became his entire Desktop Publishing Department. So even today I still do all my own designs and artwork. From pool pillows to Vespa’s to wallet’s.
Selwyn popped in to see me around 11am to catch up and talk about the gala on my he 8th and a project we’re conceptualizing with PGA tour women’s golf.
I had a scheduled meeting with Aghiles of GOOGLE ADS. Dean set me up properly over December running campaigns with GOOGLE ADS. They obviously took an interest in me due to my budget and I had an hours video conference teaching me how to maximise my money through campaigns. It was very informative and fascinating . I learnt a lot. Google Richard Scott and see.
After my GOOGLE lesson I dashed off to pick up Joanne as it was Friday and she finishes at 1pm. We picked up her dress for the Gala on the 8th from Bellisimo in Camps Bay and headed back to the shop to kill a few hours before Chad’s birthday dinner at Haciendia, the new Mexican Restaurant in Bree street.
All the kids rocked up and we stuffed ourselves on good Mexican food, I can highly recommend Hacienda. The portions are good. You will need to go a few times as there is a great menu choice.
We all celebrated Chad’s special day and headed home after a complimentary candy floss desert. The sugar kept me up all night but was worth it. When last did you eat candy floss?
Angelina came home with us as she was spending the weekend.
We plonked ourselves on the couch and took about an hour to find something to watch. We were so brain dead and hardly functioned so we decided at 9pm to go to bed.
Saturday
Sunday: We had lunch at Klein Constantia Wine Farm with Hans Astrom to discuss our wedding venue and catch up with my wonderful friend, Hans. Hans also invited Andre. Always great to catch up with him. Living the dream.
After lunch with Hans and Andre we popped in to see Daniellio to drop off the works that Enrico bought on Saturday.
Until next week
