Angelina send me the photos of her Matric Dance photo shoot. There was a nice one of her in the studio I thought I would share with you.

Angelina in the studio.

This whole week was another blur. Once again I had to check my phone to see what I did each day. I wasn’t feeling myself this week, but I just switched off and got on with it. It was a a big and final week for the preparations for the Plett POP-UP shop this coming week. I can’t really remember what happened Monday, but I do remember playing cards with Joanne on the couch all week. Selwyn asked me to do an artwork for the Shark Board in Plettenburg Bay, so I did the one below for a bit of fun. Sean Weldon saw the original one I posted here last week and wanted it.

Joanne dealt me 4 jacks. Sommer 3 in a row. Quite bizarre

I LOVE PLETT. Must i release a print of this?

This weeks old photo is of an artwork I did in 2005 called YES YES YES and YES AGAIN. 150 x 150cm. I was quite nervous back then of painting large works until they started to sell very quickly. I still remember my mom asking me the one time why do I leave so much black space on the sides of some of my paintings. What are your thoughts about this piece.

YES YES YES and YES AGAIN. 150 x 150cm

Tuesday, I popped into the Gallery in Woodstock. I managed to find some time to take the guys out for a lunch. I must still take out all the guys for an end of year function.

Pizza at The Pizza Shed. Pretty awesome Pizzas.

Afterwards there were 3 clients that came into the Gallery. I managed to get photos of them all.

Liam popped in to collect the sign he bought.

Meet Damien. He popped in as well to collect his Candy artworks.

Always good to see Espen and his wife Kjersti from Norway.

Wednesday I got stuck into printing and signing prints for the POP-UP.

Thursday I was once again manning the shop. I had to pop out and go buy some skateboards for the shop as all the good stuff was in boxes going to Plett. While I was out collecting them in Paarden Island I popped past my favorite Halal sandwich shop and bought myself 2 Steak and Salad sandwiches. The take-away was so popular I was 4th in the queue outside the shop nogal. It reminded me of when I had my dot-com and everyone in the company was Muslim and we ate at Miriams every Friday after mosque.

Nom nom.

Friday was the same. Gallery, admin, Plett planning. I did need to go see John at Hout Bay Gallery about a Backgammon box I’m making up for a collector. I will send you pics of the final product. I got stuck in a 1 hour standstill traffic jam on my way to Hout Bay. John managed to save the day. After John I popped back past Zuney Wagyu to get myself and Chad a burger. We scoffed it and I was off to collect Joanne. We had plans to go to Stellenbosch to see a man about a dog. We were close to Pane E Vino so Joanne and I popped in to say hi to George and Eleanor and shared a bottle of Calla Cia and had Eleanors famous veal and mash potatoes. Then we come home and crashed on the couch after a long day.

Saturday I once again finished off packing the last 2 boxes with goodies in for you in Plett. Hendriks kids come over and helped me out with the small finicky stuff that takes ages. I also decided to make my own little easels for the Road Signs in Plett. It took me all of 2 hrs. to make 7 easels. It was quite therapeutic.

Mariette send me a few pictures of the ladies painting the Richard Scott Tequila decanters.

Painting the black line.

Richard Scott decanters everywhere.

Sunday we had Sunday lunch again. It was good to get that going again. Joanne and I won’t see much of the kids the festive season because thy all are either studying, working or enjoying their own lives. Joanne made meat balls and spaghetti and she even squeezed in a home made banana bread.

 Until next week
