Richard Scott Blog: 12th March 2023

Monday morning got off to a good swing with finalizing the South Africa Ladies Golf Open prints for the PRO-AM. 200 prints. Yeah I will have 200 new disciples.

Monday afternoon I popped out to hit 100 golf balls at the range but caught up with some serious admin before that. I am so far behind I need to employ 2 people to keep my head above water.

Tuesday was golf day. In fact the whole week was golf week. I popped into the shop after dropping Joanne off at work.

I also bumped into the famous Tony Colman at Tamboerswinkel and had a quick catch up, then off to the shop.

The Man himself, Tony Coleman

I allocated work flow for the day and week and then headed to Steenberg Golf Estate to drop off the large Candy Golf Day prints that I donated for the winners of the tournament. I bumped into Phillip Powell and Barry Richards. Phillip insisted on some pictures with 2 very famous people.

After mingling I headed back to the shop via Henry’s Gallery You and I Art to take a photo and video, for Social Media, of the defaced Richard Scott STOP sign outside his gallery. Kinda cool, but the artist didn’t sign the back. LOL

I bumped into Joe at Woodstock Brewery Tuesday afternoon while chatting to Andre. He is on a 1 month Beer Sabbatical so cheers to coffee.

I have to share the beautiful sunset with you that we witnessed Tuesday night. I managed to get a few shots of the the pool.

I treated Joanne to a Pedi and a Mani at the Life Day Spa in Century City. It was nice to treat her and myself. Nice bit of TLC.

Wednesday morning Philip Powell emailed me the photos of Ladies PRO AM at Steenberg that was played the day before. Each of the 4 winners got an original Richard Scott Limited print of “My Candy Golf Day”.

Wednesday morning I got stuck into all the paperwork needed to sell FOH the airplane I own with Richie. It was a bitter sweet moment as its the right time to sell it from a business point of view, but we both grew fond of her. The Silver Dream Machine. Nonetheless I sold it to the owner of the flight school Etienne so Richie will still spend lots of time with her teaching other pilots how to fly. Did you know there is a global shortage of pilots due to COVID. Most pilots took the retirement package offered to them and started there own businesses or moved on. I didn’t know that and while we were in the middle of COVID and couldn’t fly anywhere, people said that, that career is dead.

I popped over to see Vernon at the driving range to practice my golf chipping. I didn’t know you get 4 types of chips. Anyway, it went well and I’m one step closer to turning PRO 🙂 I bumped into an old friend Andy Lambert. Andy helped me loose 20kg to complete three ABSA Cape Epics. Such a wonderful man and friend. Such a wealth of knowledge. Andy runs his nutrition business out in Blouberg and he completely changed my way of eating. It’s actually quite fascinating to understand why it is so important to eat the right foods and live a healthy lifestyle. Make the change and call Andy 🙂

Later that afternoon Joanne made us a fresh crunchy chicken salad and after supper settled she went for a run and I had a meeting with Lawrence, a Google and Shopify wizard. He is going to help me streamline my entire online platform. I thought I knew a lot about google and Shopify and others. Watch this space.

We had a real early night Wednesday and got up early to head to town. We both had full days. Joanne arranged a quick meeting with Achim to sign the Ducati 999 transfer documents. Were trying to get the one Ducati 999 into our names and he is the man I bought it from. I then popped to the shop where Chad had some donuts and coffee for us. I did a full day’s work in the shop.

Angelique popped out to do the Hermanus Gallery run and dropped of a huge Road Works STOP sign with Jozua at Rossouw Modern.

 Guess Who?

Angelique also popped into to see Jay at Walker bay and take a photo of the Richard Scott shrine.

Thursday afternoon Joanne and I were invited to Klein Constantia Wine farm to their book launch. I invited Andre along. We got to chat to Hans the CEO a good friend. We confirmed with him for the wedding in January up at the new Restaurant area. Joanne and I also got to meet and converse with the famous Michael Fridjhon. What an honour.

Thursday night I was messing about with some suit jacket lining I had printed by Nicola. I’m thinking of joining forces with Willem at ZEDMEN and create a range of Richard Scott suits. YES/NO?

Friday I only got out of bed at 12. I got hit with a bug. Luckily it only lasted 24hrs. So that was Friday all in one sentence.

Saturday I was feeling 50%.

Chad arranged for Bruce and Nikky to come have a studio tour. Chad met Bruce at the pop-up in Plettenberg Bay in December. What a wonderful couple. I can see Bruce investing in my art.

We were invited to the VIP lounge for the Investec sponsored South African Ladies Golf Open at Steenberg Golf estate. It was a glam affair and we talked golf while dining and drinking champagne on the club house terrace. We finished up early and headed back home. We picked Angelina up on the way as she was coming over for the weekend. We got home to also see Dean and Daniella home so that was nice to hear voices in the house.

Saturday night we played cards and watched a movie.

Sunday was a lazy day because the week was so hectic. We didn’t even go for a run we were so exhausted. We slept in to 10 and made a yummy breakfast and now I’m gonna go cook all the food. We are having a braai today. We haven’t had a braai for ages.

Got them. We played 8 games of UNO until guess who won first to 3?

Angelina the winner

I cut up the Suit Liner material and we has some fun with potential scarfs etc.

That’s a wrap.

All the best to the Cycle tour riders today

See you next Sunday
