Last week was so busy we had 3 Crayfish Braais in one week. That alone tells you how busy we were. Last Sunday we had a beautiful Lunch with Hans Astrom from Klein Constantia. He commented that my blog was a bit long, so I decided to use a few more pictures, rather than text. I did explain to him that the blog is all about 20 years from now when I become as famous as Picasso, the world will have a 20 year insight into me and my life.
OK, so its Monday now. I was all good to go today and super energized to do our new weekly sales meeting and then it didn’t happen. It’s amazing how the wind can be taken out of your sails so quickly.
Anyway, I turned it around and did some long overdue studio work. Joanne came home late which allowed me some extra studio time, so I finished all the new signs off. I also spotted a post with Black Coffee and one of my pieces and realized I need to finish off that series with him. I dug the concept artworks out and here we go:
Concept Drawings for the Black Coffee project
The Roadwork series has been received well. I have created nearly 100 to date.
After that it was a quick early supper. Joanne and I are trying to lose some weight so it’s been salad salad salad for a while. Early night for the two of us.
I had such a deep sleep that at 2pm Tuesday afternoon (as I type this part of the blog) I am still half asleep. It must be COVID side effects or something. Nonetheless I am in good spirits.
Tuesday morning started off with dropping Joanne at work, then heading to Jasons Bakery for a staff sales meeting with Chad and Angelique.
The man himself Jason. Congratulations on the birth of your baby boy big guy.
While I was at Jason’s I had a brain wave of offering him my espresso and cappuccino cups to use to serve his customers. He agreed. So pop in to Jason’s and order a coffee in a Richard Scott.
We had a meeting with the famous and ever so generous Les Sweidan of High road wines at 10am and a quick breakfast.
The famous Les Sweidan. Owner and creator of High Road wines. The Directors Reserves is one of the best blends in the country.
Then it was off to the shop. It was the usual busy Tuesday and time passed quickly. The Gold Tree framed print arrived and one was whisked off to Vergelegen Wine Farm for the Imibali gala on Wednesday. It sold for R35 000 to a lovely couple. (Steven & Emily Craig) at our table. I got two framed so that we can hang one in the Woodstock Shop. Want one?
Gold Money Tree. Hand painted gold paint on paper with two colour silkscreen pearl and black tree.
2pm came and I picked Joanne up and we headed to get my suit for the Gala on Wednesday night. We popped home for a change of clothes and an overnight bag and headed out to a supper with Danilo and Annie and some new friends Barry and Miriam. Carl and Joss joined us for supper and we were spoilt with Danilo’s home made Pesto Pasta for starters and a superb steak for mains. Simple good Italian food. Danilo was kind enough to let us sleep in the loft bedroom at The Church because we had been doing so much traveling and the next day was gonna be a killer with the Gala in Somerset West.
We woke up early on Wednesday morning and headed out. I dropped Joanne at work at 7am and headed home to the studio. I was expecting a team of people at 10am to come sort out the leak in the bathroom upstairs. (Flooring, plumber and glass guys). In 2 hours they basically removed the bathroom. Anyway we found the problem and hopefully it will all be fixed next week. The last time we had this problem the ABSA insurance company took 9 months to fix it.

Richie popped in and dropped off 100 pink Ana 3D printed key rings for Bernard in Belgium. His wife Sophi has started a small initiative to help people who suffer with breast cancer. I did a painting for her a while back and 47 prints. I will follow up with Angelique and post some more info.
The rest of the afternoon was a blur. Joanne arrange for her makeup and hair to be done for the Gala. Before we knew it, we were off. We were running a little late and the traffic lights and load shedding didn’t help.
None the less we got there and started to mingle. We found our host and my good friend Selwyn. I bumped in a few people I know like Arno Carstens, Anton Smit and Bezzey Bailey and many others. There were alot of people I recognized but did not know. The Gala was fantastic and I got to meet Gaynor Rupert and have a conversation with her about her Imibali Art iniative. She introduced me to the CEO Theo and we have a meeting next week to see where I can help them with their art initiative.
Joanne and I on the red carpet, where we belong, at the Imibali annual summer gala held at Vergelegen Wine Farm
Joanne looked absolutely beautiful
It was a long night. We only got to bed at 1:30am so you can imagine Thursday was a long day. We still got up early, like 5am and headed into town. I used the opportunity to do a full Admin and Sales catch up with Angelique and Chad. The day went quick and before I knew it I had picked Joanne up, headed home, early supper and early to bed.
Friday I focused on the studio and getting a few bits and pieces completed for galleries and clients.
Chad spotted a really bad Richard Scott Fake at an auction house in Woodstock.
Your not famous until they copy you.
Saturday was the laziest day we have had since those summer days in December by the pool. But strangely enough I did all those odd jobs around the house like fix showers, hang mosquito nets, clean out garage, fix hi-fi.
Enrico, a new client sent me a picture of his newly acquired artwork from Lugano.
Meet Enrico.
I posted a competition on Facebook and Instagram. Check it out and like and share to win.

Sunday Joanne and I got up early for a beach run and then started the Sunday lunch. Everyone was in this Sunday, so full house. Joanne made a cottage pie and I made some home made bread.
Until next Sunday,
