Richard Scott Blog: 29th October 2023

Monday, I managed to stick to my routine and do admin and studio work from home. One of them days for ticking boxes. I got stuck into the High Road wine collaboration. These will be for sale from tomorrow (Monday 30th October)

Me in my studio

High Road Classique 2019.

The wine will be available tomorrow in a 2 pack or a 1 pack at my Gallery in Woodstock and online.

Mandy

Tuesday I popped into the gallery. There were a few meetings on the go. The first was to go see Rick and discuss some potential Richard Scott Murals on a development he is working on in Clifton.

Meet Rick

The second was a BOSA art fund raiser event with Joan in charge to make it all happen.

Save the date please.

Tuesday evening was full moon and Joanne and I decided to take a walk on the beach as it was super low tide. There is probably a technical term for that that I should know from my school geography.

Beach hair

Silhouette of Joanne. The love of my life.

Living life to the fullest

Wednesday I was in the studio all day working on all the various items for the pop-up in Plettenberg bay in December. Carl popped in to have a catchup and a cup of coffee.

Meet Carl

This weeks old photo is of Carl and I on one of our many travels abroad over the last 20 years we have known each other. The one time we went to 11 Cities in 7 days in Europe. Carl has the biggest Richard Scott collection in the world and is one of my best friends, mentor and soundboard. Thanks Carl

My latest mural at You and I Gallery in Sea Point. We did it so you can buy the door.

Thursday I popped past Chad to pick up the Caddy as he was on study leave. I was in charge of deliveries for a week or so. I popped into the gallery to catch up with Angelique and then ran a few errands. Henry at YOU AND I ART was opening a new space in Sea Point Thursday night so we delivered some gin and wine.

Helping out a friend with and an ailment as apparently I am good with my hands.

Hanging with some fellow artist at the opening, Langton and Kyle

Catching up with Konstantin. We are working together with Mmusi on the Build One South Africa art event.

An old collector of my art Harold.

I finally finished restoring Joanne's childhood table for her.

At the gallery I focused on the tequila. The cork and the box. Do you think I can find a company in Cape Town that can make me 200 boxes in a week?

Using an old Woodstock Brewery beer box to make a template of the one I want for my tequila.

Friday was another day at the Gallery box hunting. Michael popped in to drop off the stickers for the Tequila and I posted a pick of a stencil on IG.

Meet Michael.Hhe makes all my stickers.

Circular art. Gold Stencil. DM me if you want to buy it. They are quite rare.

Saturday, Joanne and I popped into the Gallery.  We decided to do a spring clean. As soon as Joanne see's dirt, she’s on it. We were all in trouble. After that we popped upstairs to see Andre and have a beer and headed home to relax and chill on the couch and wait for the Rugby. Whoaaaa it was so cool to win the World Cup. Bokke you make us all so proud. Well done.

Filling up the Copics. Check out the Muizenberg image I'm working on.

I popped in to FRAMED to pick up 2 works. This is Felly, he is the man who frames all my art.

Richie dropped off some 3D printed Candy key rings. They are for sale in the Gallery in Woodstock. Pop in.

I'm working on an idea i want to pitch to Checkers.

Girls or Trees?

Genius marketing in France. Well done Checkers.

People always ask me why I spray Spray and Cook on my braai grid. Well, I have had my braai grid for 20 years now. It is a trick I learned from an old cherry farmer in Wellington.

Sunday we got up at 9am and went for a beach run. Richie popped in to drop off some 3D Candy prints and joined us for a brunch. I have put the new 3D Candy prints online but I haven’t shared it on social media yet - watch this space!! That gives you wonderful people who read my blog the first chance to buy them. There are three different girls; Ana, Mandy and Uma. They are only editioned to 3 so fastest fingers first. Here is the link: Click Here

Richie with a special delivery

Until Next week.
