Richard Scott Blog - 14th April 2024

Late Sunday Angelina did a photo shoot for Tik-Tok. Here are a few pics.

Kevin's Girl Candy Painting with Candy Carmen velvet cushion.

Reading with gold velvet Mandy.

Snoozing with circular red Tammy and bull denium Candy Tammy cushion.

Drinking coffee with graffiti Ana and with Bishop Cherise Tree Painting called Arch's Tree.

Monday was Joannes 50th Birthday and she took the day off. She decided on the spur of the moment to spend the day out in Darling. So we showered and headed that way. We stopped at The Marmalade Cat for an oven baked omelet for brunch which I don’t think I have every eaten. Joanne said it was just like her dad made.

First stop for Birthday breakfast.

Oven baked omelet to share please. We were both in awe of the size of it. It was different but still delicious.

We popped in to Evitas Peron and then headed to Darling Brew for a quick Beer tasting. We then drove around Darling through all the streets like we always do when visiting a town pondering if we could live there.

One of South Africa's most famous personalities.

There she is, Evita!

After that we head back on the back road. Halfway home I saw Groote Post winery turning. I did not release it was on our side of the world, so I turned right and off we went. We did a wine tasting and had a nice lunch. We got to meet the owner Nick, “Richard Scott Style” as Joanne would say. I just said hello and started making conversation. Nick gave us some history of the wine farm and we just chatted. He gifted Joanne a nice bottle of their Champagne and then we headed home to enjoy the rest of Joannes Birthday at home.

Lunch at Groote Post.

Happy Birthday Joanne from the owner himself, Nick.

We toured the Manor house as one has to.

Tuesday we were off to Plettenberg Bay for two days to go see a few clients and top up tops’s. Chad picked me up at 5.30am. Said goodbye to Joanne and we were off to pick up Angelique. Well actually jump into her car. It was a nice drive. I managed to get document done for the Stone Dragon Auction. Remember the 4 pieces I did with Biology teacher Pete Roux.

We stopped off at Perigreen for a coffee and some Padkos (Afrikaans for Road Food). Joanne made us all some yummy sandwiches, but the samosas looked so good. They were scoffed along with the sandwiches Joanne made.

Nom Nom. Joanne packed us some of Angelina and Daniella's chocolate brownies.

Half Way.

We arrived in Plett around 2pm and dropped off our bags at the Airbnb and headed to go see Trudy and John. We spent the afternoon with them and that too spilled over into the evening where we went out for a nice supper.

Discussion option with John and Trudy.

Spec-ing out the artwork for the lift wall with Chad.

Doodeling some designs.

Sticker Bomb.

Wednesday morning, we ran a few errands with clients and tops and Galleries and then we were off.

That beautiful REBUL piece at Milkwood Gallery in Plettenberg Bay.

Another one, or two.

Delivery Lawrence Graff style. I.E. Do it yourself.

We stopped off in Knysna to see if Trent Reid was in his gallery Knysna Fine Art. He was not. The gallery is looking fantastic.

Then we opted to come back via Worsceter as the Hugenought tunnel was open again. It closed for a day after the storm we had over the weekend.

Chad drove us home, I only got home at 6pm. It was nice to be home even though I was only gone for 2 Days.

Nom Nom Lime milkshake on the way home.

Delicious Roster Brood at Oude Post, just outside Swellendam. You have to try them.

Once home, Joanne made us a nice supper and we had a good catch up.

Thursday was studio and Admin. I didn’t get much done admin wise on Tuesday or Wednesday. on Thursday, I did manage to send off a few personal items to Ashbeys to be auctioned off. Now that I’m 55 I’m slowly clearing out our house.

Wrapping up "Saturday Night Tick Fever" by artist Rodrigo Pombero.

Gold Money Tree Restoration done.

Preparing a 3D printed Ana for a collector.

Double checking the Candy Mandy Backgammon pucks and bag. You gonna love it.

The old road sign that was outside the shop getting ready for a facelift, Circular style.

Friday Joanne worked from home and we did our bit and then we went for a drive to Swelco to collect some chairs Joanne had bid on. We want to restore them and sell them on.

Spending quality time with Joanne, the love of my life.

We popped into see Nicola, at Montabelo, to pic up the Backgammon bags. While we waited, we had a nice orange juice at The Pink Café. Can highly recommend it. Then back home and chilled.

Nom Nom freshly squeezed orange juice, best shared with a Best Friend, Lover, Fiance and Solemate.

Saturday was a bike ride day and a cooking day. Joanne prepped the Curry mince for Sunday Lunch and I was in the mood to make pork pies again. After getting some pork belly and pork shoulder from the local butcher.

Thats my week

Until Next week.
