Hello there, this week was 1000 miles an hour. You would think after Joanne and I going away last weekend to the Cederberg to celebrate our 4th Anniversary, we would take a slow week. No, it was flat out all the way to Sunday. Monday, I stayed home and did lots of washing. Not sure why I did 6+ loads but Hey Ho, as Jane in Pangbourge would say. I have been keeping the fire going all winter and Monday was no different. Capetonians are all discussing the cold weather like they do in the UK. Granted it is cold but I’m from the UK, so I love the wet grey weather. Joanne came home early, and I made her Portuguese’s chicken wings Richard Scott style. Slow cooked for 4 hours with lots and lots of Portuguese chicken spice, grated ginger and garlic and homemade chili oil that I make with Kluvenberg olive oil. I made a simple Richard Scott Greek salad: Deconstructed lettuce, tomato, and baby cucumber. It was simple but unbelievably delicious. You could taste the lettuce separately and tomato, we love out food separate and simple. We cleaned up, packed all the washing away as I did a Richard Scott box that dried all 6+ loads of washing, and sat on the couch to catch chat.
Angelina suggested I do a square artwork. She spotted a display at Rossow and came up with the idea. So I ordered a few square canvases

Working on a new series
This weeks old picture is a photo of me and Italian Artist Enrico De Paris. We were on a boat in Venice. I was introduced to him by Marco Garbero. He had an Exhibition in Venice and I bought one of his pieces and brought it back home with me to South Africa.
We packed our overnight suitcase and had an early night as Tuesday was gonna be a long day.
Tuesday, here we go:
We woke up, packed our toothbrushes and last bits and pieces and headed to town. The schools are back so traffic was kak. That’s a typicall South African slang word for shit. I dropped Joanne at the office and headed to the Gallery in Woodstock and caught up with Chad and his clients, then Angelique and I were off to Hermanus to hang out with Jozua and have a lunch. Joz is 1000 miles and hour and has so much energy, yet somewhere in the madness we spoke business. We walked through the streets of Hermanus and Joz wanted to take us to a new spot called Mozambique. I was very impressed.

After lunch we drove back to the gallery and I ran inside grabbed my stuff and headed to pick up Joanne. I was 15 minutes late. We headed to apply for Joannes Dubai Visa for September and then off to Cape Diem Lodge to check in. Daniel our very good friend booked us in for the night as Joanne and I had a Cape Town date night. We sat on the lawn drinking champagne and celebrating out 4th year anniversary. We decided to buy the lodge off Daniel if he ever wants to sell it. It's our second home in Cape Town. After changing into our evening wear Joanne and I Uber-ed to FYN Restaurant, we had a 6pm dinner reservation. It was our gift to each other. We’ve been wanting to dine there for ages. The food and experience was amazing. We even opted for the High Road wine upgrade. I know Les, the owner of High Road, very well and sent him a picture. We wanted to meet the head chef Peter Tempelhoff, but he was not there. His staff treated us very well.

After supper we Uber-ed to Theatre on the Bay to watch Marc Lottering’s latest show that started at 8pm. It too was good. We laughed a lot. Then it was back to the lodge and bedtime as Joanne had work on Wednesday.

Joanne and I didn’t have to get up at our normal time of 5.30am as Joanne’s office is 10 minutes from Cape Diem. Joanne headed out and I got stuck into banking and admin at the lodge. I asked Chad to pop in and come fetch me on his way into the Gallery. He did and I invited him in to have breakfast with me and brainstorm a few deals he has on the hook.
We headed back to the Gallery via Henry's Gallery to take a few photos and videos of my new stop sign that had been TAG’ed again by another street artist.
We also popped into to see Mahdis at Persepolis where my Road signs hang on the corner of Wale and Buitengracht. It is a super popular sight.
I introduced Chad to David from RED gallery and we bumped into Ben, artist David Kuijers son.

Marco Garbero popped in for a catch up and then Jay from Walker Bay Art Gallery popped in as well. It was great to catch up with Jay. He too is 1000 miles an hour. After Jay left, Joanne met me at the Gallery, and we popped upstairs to have lunch with Chad. We both had a new style burger Andre was offering and Joanne opted for a rare Sirloin. We scoffed it and then it was home. We bought take away burgers for the kids and flopped on the couch and watched a horror movie, then early night.

Thursday I was at the Gallery again and Angelique and I were brainstorming the LION match box series. Chad was out delivering and picking up. I asked Angelique to order us a early lunch form Pizza Connection but they only opened at 12. So, I opted for Mirams toasted steak masala, chips and salad. It was delicious. I love it when they cut a sandwich in half because once you have enjoyed the first half you know you’re only halfway there and can now enjoy the second half even more. The bast part is the moment in between eating each half.

Friday morning Joanne worked from home so we both got stuck into admin for an hour or so. Chad was off to Stellenbosch to study, so we picked up the ball and headed out to the shop. Not before Richie popped in and chatted 3D sculptures. We are gonna do the candy 3D print run. Hold on tight and watch this space.

We popped upstairs to hang out with Mira and get some pointers on Paris as they just came back from a few days there.
We came home and chilled with the kids. Joanne made a delicious Mexican Chicken dish for supper.

Sunday, we woke up late and went for a run. 3 Days in a row now. Joanne and I wanna try run every day till we leave for our trip. We finished off the Sunday lunch Lasagne and set the table. It was nice to have Amy and her boyfriend Thorne and brother Dayne for lunch as well.
