Monday I stayed at home and got stuck into the studio. I signed a few packages that were off to Germany and Australia respectfully. A third one was going to Belgium. It contained 1000 keyrings.
Adding some value to packaging. This is an actual series called Pack it like a Boss.
1000 pink Ana Keyrings off to Belgium.
I also decided to upgrade some old studio sketches I found in the Richard Scott treasure trove.
Coffee Ana getting a red Bikini.
Sad cat to happy cat.
Adding colour always makes people smile.
Tuesday I was in the Gallery and had a 10am meeting with a good friend Harold Hopkin. He introduced me to Rob of NSRI. Rob is having a function on 23rd August at Suikerbossie restaurant in Hout Bay to raise funds for their cause. I have donated a gold tree and various other items.
My good friend Harol and Rob.
I then sat with Angelique to work on a client email and then spent about an hour explaining to an existing client to not sell his beautiful collection just yet. I popped upstairs to see Andre about a combination offer of using his space as a venue for my talks. That was all concluded and I added the offering to my web site.
This week’s old photo is one of me back in 1995 sometime when I owned a Volkswagen Citi Golf Cti. It was my 4th car in my life after a VW beetle, which you saw in last week’s blog, and my very first car a Nissan Langley that used a credit card to open it and start it. It was very futuristic. Anyway, I loved my Citi Golf.
Me and my Citi. I always washed my own car.
Tuesday afternoon I made some pickled fish. I added too much pickled spice, but it was still delicious. Joanne and I ate it over 4 sittings and it even lasted to Saturday brunch.
I love cooking and I love it even more when I do it with Joanne. My famous pickled fish.
Wednesday I was home again. I made Joanne a nice coffee in one of the old cat espresso cups and she was off to the office. I once again got stuck into admin. I had lots of bills to pay. PAYE, VAT and Workman’s Compensation. Blah.
We made 100 000 of these back in 2005 with Jean Hermans in Bernelux.
Anyway. Richie sent me some pictures of the new Puzzle 3D prints we are launching soon.
3D Printing in different colours at the same time.
Working on it. Draft 2.
I made myself a home-made Richard Scott burger with some Bertus Basson sweet cucumber pickles with a hint of liqourice. It really was delicious. Nom Nom
Bertus Basson would be proud.
Joanne booked us a Vitamin B injection with Jolene at Melkbos Pharmacy and then Joanne decided to pop into Melkbos to Marocco. We met Wayne, co-owner and Joanne ended up buying 2 beautiful jerseys and an awesome blanket.
Thursday was like a Friday for Joanne, as she will be working from home again this week Friday. I dropped Joanne off and ordered a coffee at Tamboerswinkel and headed to the Gallery in Woodstock.
I spend as much time of my life with this beautiful soul.
Henry popped in to the Gallery to say hello and picked up 8 new pieces he just bought. It was good to see him and catch up.
Always positive and always selling. The famous Henry from You and I Gallery.
I decided to colour in and sign some valuation certificates as the printer ran out of ink. So, the 2 valuation certificates I did, became artworks.
One luicky collector is gonna get a suprise. Turning a simple piece of paper into a currency worth R2 500.
Joanne and I had a couple’s therapy session with Orette and we were early so we decided to pop into On The Rocks on Blauwberg for a light lunch. We shared the squid and Mussels Cape Malay style.
It was cold. Very cold.
Angelique sent me a very weird request. We sold a topless Mandy road sign to a client and this request came through.
The guilty sign.
We had an early night and had the best night sleep ever.I did however get to finish off another set of dinky cats.
How much are those Kitty Cats in the Wiindow, How much are the Kitties for sale, How much are the Kitties in the window, the one with the waggly tails.
Friday, we got up early. I headed to Home Affairs to pick up my new SA passport. Joanne potted around the house. When I got home, 3 hours later, Joanne prepared me a nom nom breakfast of mushrooms, mini pork sausages, grilled tomatoes, and soft fried eggs.
After brunch we potted a bit and headed into the Gallery in Woodstock to meet up with artist Kyle Jardine. We are both loving his art.
Meet Kyle. Joanne and I are loving his art.
After a great meeting with Kyle we popped upstairs to the brewery for a beer and bumped into Rob. What was supposed to be 10 minutes ended up in 90 minutes chatting and catching up with Rob.
Rob, Joe, Joanne and I. Celebrating life.
Angelique did the Friday Gallery run and sent me a full report and some photos of the journey.
So honoured to be featured at Klein Constantia wine farm.
Klein Constantia Richard Scott cheese boards.
Henry's quaint Sea Point Gallery space.
Richard Scott shrine at Hout Bay Gallery.
These signs displayed at Persepolis on Buitengracht Street have made the Road Sign series somewhat famous.
We headed home and had a early night again. We are still struggling to find a new series on Netflix, so we give up and enjoy each other’s company in conversation.
Saturday morning, guess what, we woke up at 8am, and only after 2 coffees and lots of Paris planning, we only got out of bed at 9.30am. Quick 5km beach run and then we prepared the 2 soups for tomorrow's Sunday lunch. Joanne decided on pea and bacon soup and I opted for a very raw peasant vegetable soup. At 12pm it was all done along with a Lasagna for our supper.
We decided to go though the stamp collection letters. It was lots of fun looking at 100-year-old stamps and letters.
Then the rest of Saturday afternoon we were lazy on the couch. Joanne watched You Tube Videos on Dubai and I caught up with this blog.
Sunday morning, we layed in bed researching long Covid. Ian, Joanne’s brother, sent us a podcast about fasting and the benefits of it fighting long Covid. Joanne and I do a 72 hour fast every month to reset our immune system. So, we decided to do another one Monday to Thursday. I will report back.
We went for a nice beach run at 9am and then got stuck into the day.
Dean, Daniella and Chad popped over for Sunday lunch. Richie was sick and Angelina was studying.
The soup was delicious alsong with the Jewish perogon's that Joanne bought when she went shopping with Craig's mom, Mrs Schneider.
Best vegatable soup ever.
Ok, thats it for the week.
Until next Sunday.
Have and awesome week.
